About us
Time Is Colour offers energetic, cinematic music, drawing on influences from jazz, hip-hop, funk and soul. Led by pianist Cédric Hanriot – who has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Donny McCaslin and Dianne Reeves on the Grammy Award-winning album Beautiful Life – the group is supported in the studio and on stage by the sharp and modern bass-drum duo of Bertrand Beruard and Antonin Violot. French-Cameroonian singer Nunny completes this on-stage osmosis by bringing her unique touch, blending rap, spoken word and melodies. While respecting the authenticity and finesse of jazz, the band manages to captivate a diverse audience of all ages and backgrounds. Long-time jazz fans appreciate the finesse and virtuosity of Time Is Colour's compositions, while fans of contemporary music also find the codes and energy of pop, funk and hip-hop.

Time is Color Vol.2 is the new opus from versatile polymath Cédric Hanriot. A key contributor to multiple GRAMMY AWARD-winning projects, collaborating with such luminaries as Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves and Terri Lyne Carrington, to name but a few, Cédric Hanriot has forged a reputation as an in-demand pianist, sound designer, composer and arranger, bringing unique enhancements to a highly diverse range of successful musical projects. With Time is Color Vol.2, he presents his art in its most sincere form: an evolution from his original project Time Is Color, released in 2022, which received universal acclaim (voted CHOC Jazz Magazine, 5 stars BBC Magazine and ranked among the top ten albums of 2022 by UK magazine MOJO) and even found its way onto former US President Barack Obama's famous summer Spotify playlist that year.
The roots of Time is Color vol.2 flourish in the idiom of modern jazz. Tracks on the album such as “Comforting Glow” have echoes of Bill Evans, while other tracks draw on hip-hop, funk, soul and electronica. The Luminous World part 2‘ is a high-impact track featuring American singer Tony Moreau, while ’Ego Chase" features lyrics by renowned British saxophonist and rapper Soweto Kinch.
American MCs JSWISS and Charles X also feature on the album, while saxophonist and singer Braxton Cook adds a soulful vibe to the mix. The magic continues on “La Source” and “La Barque du Temps” with French narrations by Arthur H and Cyrielle Clair, while Swiss trumpeter Erik Truffaz (Blue Note) offers a superb improvisation on “The Luminous World Part 1”.
With outstanding contributions from each special guest, not to mention excellent performances from Cédric's core trio of Bertrand Beruard on bass and Antonin Violot on drums, the album is woven together by Cédric Hanriot's phenomenal skill on piano, Fender Rhodes and analogue synthesizers.
Commenting on the album, Cédric says: "Over the last few years, I've been deepening my spirituality, thanks to a number of encounters, books, happy and unhappy experiences and reflections. For some time now, quantum physics has been shedding scientific light on some of life's mystical phenomena. My conviction is that quantum physics and spirituality are not antagonistic in nature, but rather speak of the same thing, a kind of synchronised tautology, which therefore became an essential catalyst for this album. We are energy, music is energy and life is magic! This album is dedicated to all the people who have enlightened me and who continue to enlighten me on my spiritual path. I hope that the music and vibrations of this album will resonate and bring you the best energies".
