Singer Elina Duni has crafted a unique artistic world at the crossroads of jazz, French chanson (Brel, Gainsbourg, Aznavour), and Balkan and Mediterranean traditions. In Rob Luft, a London-based guitarist whose ethereal melodies perfectly complement her refined vocals, she has found an ideal accompanist: a true alter ego, with whom she now co-writes her entire repertoire and will release a new duo album in early 2026.

When Elina Duni sings the jazz classic “Reaching for the Moon,” composed by Irving Berlin in 1930, and Rob Luft’s playing envelops her voice in an ethereal beauty, subtly and profoundly amplifying the power of the melody and lyrics, the music transforms into a poetic experience of exceptional sonic and interpretive uniqueness. It is thanks to this quality that the Albanian-Swiss singer and the English guitarist have captivated their international audience since the beginning of their collaboration in 2017. For nearly twenty years, and across nine albums, the cosmopolitan artist Elina Duni has shared with her audience the cultural treasure of traditional songs from Southeast Europe, as well as from France, Italy, England, and Jewish and Arab cultures. The natural multilingual mastery of her nuanced interpretations is striking, and the spark of improvisational freedom that Elina Duni—drawing on her deep expertise in jazz—always infuses into her music is truly captivating. For Rob Luft, born in 1993, jazz is his primary musical home. From his teenage years onward, he has demonstrated extraordinary virtuosity, which, combined with exceptional musicality, makes him one of the most captivating guitarists of his generation on the international stage. He forms a perfect duo with Elina Duni, with whom he blends a selection of spellbinding nocturnal songs from various cultures with jazz pieces and original compositions on their third album together and in the accompanying program.
