About us
‘Parfum d’Azur’ is where breath and resonance meet, with the saxophone and piano responding to one another in a single breath. Jean-Pierre Como had long harboured a desire for a musical dialogue with Javier Girotto, sharing with him a common vision of sound and composition.
The duo weaves an impressionistic and vibrant jazz in which power becomes clarity and the music pure light. A rare blend of gentleness, expressiveness and exhilarating interplay characterises the duo’s compositions and improvisations.
It is music that is both highly structured and profoundly free, leaving plenty of room for the imagination. It combines the elegance and depth of classical Romanticism with the freedom and vocabulary of jazz. The album thus offers a unique balance between form and spontaneity.

Founder of the Aires Tango quartet, an innovative group that blends the tradition of tango with jazz, Javier Girotto is an artist in a class of his own, blessed with a very pure tone and a unique phrasing on both the soprano and baritone saxophones.
A deeply lyrical musician, the Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto offers a free-spirited and universal style of jazz.
A talented composer, he carries within him the darker aspects of Argentine history.

A multi-faceted Steinway Artist, Jean-Pierre Como has helped to profoundly reshape the jazz landscape by co-founding, with drummer Paco Séry, the jazz fusion group SIXUN, which was awarded the Sacem Grand Prix du Jazz.
