Multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and beatboxer Stracho Temelkovski is of Macedonian origin. He developed a passion for playing instruments at an early age and was fascinated by musical improvisation. In 2003, he stepped in at the last minute to replace American jazz bassist Steve Swallow on a project with musician and poet Antonio Placer.
At the end of 2015, Stracho Temelkovski met Cuban pianist Omar Sosa at a concert near Grenoble. This encounter gave rise to a strong musical bond, which led to a long-lasting collaboration with several duo concerts and a digital EP.
Determined to create crossovers with other arts, he teamed up with various choreographers for whom he composed and performed the music for their shows.
Very involved in the local community, he discovered a strong interest in cultural mediation. In addition to his work with schools and neighborhoods, Stracho Temelkovski offered workshops in prisons for several years.
These powerful experiences enabled Stracho Temelkovski to release The Sound Braka in October 2020, an album with a unique sound that celebrates both the heritage of oral folk cultures and highbrow cultures.
Finally, in 2023, the musician became the first artist associated with the Jazz à Vienne Festival, winning a three-year artistic residency sponsored by the Department of Isère.
